In this story, where Monika is just the popular school girl instead of being self-aware, the protagonist has very high functioning autism (Asperger’s Syndrome), gets convinced by Sayori, who was never his childhood friend, to consider the literature club, and he meets the other girls. Him and Yuri find out how similar they are and get to know each other as they spend more time together.
